Millwood and Oakwest Pinnicle Neighborhoods Help "Stuff the Trolly"
On Saturday, November 10th, my Buyers Specialist, July Hong, and I walked the neighborhoods of Millwood and Oakwest Pinnacle and picked up canned goods they left for us. The previous weekend we left a flyer and a brown paper sac on each door step marketing the event. They flyer informed the neighbors that we would be in their prospective neighborhoods picking up the sacs if they wished to participate. The following Tuesday and Thursday we called all the neighbors reminding them of the event. The canned goods are going to be donated to Food Link during this month's "Stuff the Trolley" event. Keller Williams Realty will be "stuffing the trolley" on November 21st. This was our effort to get our neighborhoods involved in a great community event. We have helped many homeowners buy and sell in both neighborhoods, it was a great way to meet all the neighbors and formally introduce ourselves.
On Saturday, July and I met up at 10 am with our little red wagons and started up and down the streets. We had great feedback, excellent participation, priceless conversations, and it was a good workout! I even had a couple of embarrassing moments where a bag tore because it was stuffed full of cans and all the goods went rolling in the streets! Sorry, no pictures of me running around collecting rolling cans in the middle of the street laughing at myself. :) I'm sure there was a neighbor or two looking out their window chuckling. I think I'm going to blame that one on the Bucz's in the Millwood subdivision, they donated the most goods with a total of six bags FULL!! Thank you Bucz Family!!

Good thing we brought a truck!!
Back at the office unloading the "goods"
We look forward to making this an anual event and meeting more and more of the great families in each neighborhood. Maybe next year we can get the Trolley to come to us!
If you would like to participate too, it's not too late! Give me a call and I'd be happy to stop by and pick up your donation!

Make a Difference Day!
The City of Visalia made October 27th "Make a Difference Day." Non-profits posted projects where citizens of Visalia could volunteer their time and give back to the community. I got to be apart of the Urban Tree Foudation and their project to plant over 500 trees along the Packwood Creek trail in South East Visalia.
Here is a little about my experience the day of:

Brain Kemp, the owner of Urban Tree Foundation told us a little about the project...
I had a great time, met a lot of great people, and I can't wait to run on the trail once it is finished!!

Local Attraction-Cafe 99 Traver, CA
If you are looking for an enjoyable Sunday afternoon, I'd encourage you to take a quick trip about 10-15 minutes north on the 99 to a sleepy little town called Traver, Ca. You will notice right off the freeway a not-so-sleepy cafe. Once a cheese plant, now a mini Knott's Berry Farm, Cafe 99 is a great hang out for the whole family. The kids can play in the famous tree house, pet the goats, or feed the chickens all while Mom and Dad enjoy some wine tasting or even a beer and a game on the out door patio. You might even be able to check a "to-do" off your list. Cafe 99 has a quaint little gift shoppe full of gadgets and gizmo's. Staying true to their roots, you can build gift baskets with Bravo Farm Cheese, nuts, dried fruits and much more. I'd love to hear about your experience!
